On Friday Dominique Ansel Bakery created the Cronut – part croissant and part doughnut hybrid. This food creation is made from thin layers of croissant dough that are deep fried, filled with Tahitian vanilla cream and fresh coat of rose glaze, and finally garnished with rose sugar. Next month bakery will change the flavor to lemon maple glaze and maple syrup cream. Unfortunately, New York is the only location where you can buy a cronut – which sells for $5.

Visual artist and photographer Henry Hargreaves did a great job recreating last meals requests from the most dangerous criminals in the United States history. Very interesting project ‘No Seconds’ provides a look into these final meals with basic information about the inmates and their crime statistics. In many countries the prisoner on a death row selects their final meal and authorities have to satisfy the request. The meal is received on a prisoner’s last day before the execution.
